John is an operating partner at TruArc, working with the firm’s Distribution portfolio companies. He currently serves as chairman of BlackHawk, chairman of Meyer Lab, board member of New Directions Aromatics, and previously served as chairman of Kele and Service Champ. He has more than 35 years of experience in strategy development and execution and international business development.

Prior to joining TruArc, John served as president of Grainger International, running all international distribution businesses and global sourcing. As Chief Strategy Officer, he was deeply involved in Grainger’s transformation from a domestic branch-based catalog business to an international, multi-billion dollar online B2B leader. Prior to Grainger, he was a partner at Bain & Company focusing on distribution, channel sales and marketing, and industrial products. John draws on these experiences to better collaborate with TruArc’s investment professionals and management teams.

John received his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Colgate University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. When he’s not at work, he’ll play golf anytime, anywhere and enjoys mentoring young people and spending time with his wife and two kids.
